The ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas represents a significant achievement for President Biden in the closing days of his presidency. However, President-elect Trump has also sought recognition for the deal.
When asked by reporters on Wednesday about who should be credited, Biden responded sharply, saying, “Is that a joke?” Meanwhile, Trump claimed credit on social media, calling the ceasefire an “EPIC” agreement and asserting that it “could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November.”
