Brazilian authorities report that the horse, dubbed Caramelo, which captured widespread attention after being spotted stranded on a rooftop by a TV news helicopter, has been successfully rescued. Firefighters and veterinarians ascended the partially submerged roof to sedate and stabilize the animal. They highlight that Caramelo is among thousands of animals being rescued amidst the recent devastating floods in southern Brazil, which have claimed over 100 lives.
