Researchers at the University of Miami are transforming weather forecasts by creating a seasonal forecasting model that brings together multiple prediction models to produce more reliable forecasts. The North American Multi-Model Ensemble (NMME) prediction model issues forecasts in real time and is an official National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) operational product.
By coupling forecast models from NOAA, NASA, Environment and Climate Change Canada, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and other agencies, NMME helps meet specific, tailored regional prediction and decision support needs of a large community of weather and climate information users.
