A tragic accident in Peru left three people dead and one seriously injured. A video captured the moment when a giant rock crushed a white SUV carrying tourists, reportedly of Chinese nationality.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at kilometer 98 of the Central Highway in the Cacray sector, in the district of San Mateo de Huanchor, Peru.
In the footage, shared on social media, two white vehicles, an SUV and a van, are seen parked on the road while other cars pass in the opposite direction.
The video proceeds normally until a giant rock suddenly falls onto the SUV’s cabin, completely destroying the vehicle and causing it to overturn.
Local media reported that the driver was the sole survivor. He was rescued alive by officers from the National Police and rushed to the Matucana Hospital for emergency treatment.
Following the incident, authorities recovered the bodies and inspected the passengers’ belongings for identification.
