Two people dead after truck fails to stop

Two people died after a truck brakes fail crashing in Copacabana near Medellín.

A tragic traffic accident was reported on the north-south lane near the Guasimalito neighborhood, right in front of the Haceb company. The crash involved a truck loaded with rum that, apparently without brakes, violently collided with a divider, resulting in the death of the truck driver and a motorcyclist.

The strong impact also involved a private vehicle, an SUV. Additionally, several passersby took advantage of the situation to steal bottles of rum scattered around the area. Two of these individuals were arrested by the authorities.

The incident, which occurred on the northern highway, has caused significant congestion on the road, especially in the north-south direction. Agents from the Mobility Department and rescue organizations are at the scene attending to the emergency.

Drivers are advised to take alternative routes and pay attention to the instructions from traffic authorities.
