Rockdale County Fire Chief Marian McDaniel reported that the incident began around 5 a.m. Sunday when a sprinkler system malfunctioned at the BioLab plant in Conyers. Water mixed with a reactive chemical, releasing a plume of unknown chemicals. Although a small roof fire was initially contained, it reignited later that afternoon, according to Sheriff Eric Levett.
