A DHL cargo plane crashed while approaching an airport in Lithuania’s capital on Monday morning, hitting a house and killing a Spanish crew member. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Surveillance footage showed the plane descending normally before it suddenly erupted in flames behind a building, though the moment of impact was not captured.
Lithuanian officials are exploring various possibilities, including the potential involvement of Russia, given its suspected role in previous sabotage incidents. However, they stressed there is no evidence linking Russia to this crash at this time. Lithuanian intelligence chief Darius Jauniškis acknowledged that terrorism could be a potential factor but added that it remains just one line of inquiry.
