Formula 1 is about to rev up South Florida again. South Florida Motorsports (SFM), the organizers of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix 2024, say the international racing event will return to Miami Gardens on the first weekend of May at the Miami International Autodrome next to Hard Rock Stadium. Entering its third year, Miami has been chosen as one of the only six venues to host an F1 Sprint in 2024, meaning there will be an extra race held that Saturday and guaranteeing high-octane action throughout the weekend. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s race.

Hialeah Police say they are trying to determine why a 36-year-old man shot and killed his 6-year-old son and then took his own life inside an apartment on Thursday. Police spokesman, Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told CBS News Miami’s Peter D’Oench that they received a 911 call from a family member about the shooting that happened at the Lake House apartments at 7225 W. 11TH Court. One neighbor said "I only heard a scream from one person, apparently a woman."Another neighbor, Raul Arteaga, said "It’s very sad."Some neighbors said they had not seen any serious problems before at the apartment. Neighbor Pedro Dominguez told CBS News Miami’s Peter D’Oench, "I would watch them go by on walks. I thought everything was calm. I thought the man was calm. Life is hard when something like this happens. It is one thing to take your own life. But to kill you son, that is horrible."
